5 Love Languages - Expert Edition!

We all know Gary Chapman’s wonderful book The Five Love Languages. It has been helping marriages for more than 25 years. In this episode we discuss three “advanced” ways to think about your spouse’s love language and use these tools to really grow together.

  1. using their love language to place “scafolding” up in order to help you find a safe place to work on hard issues.
  2. Being cautious of the opposite of speaking your spouse’s specific love language
  3. Using their love language to work toward healing and reconnection after or during a conflict.

If you want to avoid conflict, or even if you are in the midst of it, these “Love Languages 200 level!” ideas might be exactly what you need.

What do you think? Are there other ways that love languages has helped your marriage?

Kate and I also joke about our “alternative” love languages (check out the podcast to find out), but have you found out any special alternative ways to speak love to your spouse?
